Marijuana In Nevada
GOOD TO KNOW
Are you a first time user or new to the world of cannabis? Maybe you enjoy a casual joint from time to time but are interested in trying an edible for the first time. Or maybe you’re a self-proclaimed cannabis connoisseur (may we say cannaseur?), but you are new to recreational cannabis use in Nevada and would like to brush up on the basic local laws. Regardless of your situation, the following list of tips and tricks for marijuana consumption in Nevada should provide you with some value.
Be Prepared For How Marijuana Can Affect You.
Marijuana affects everybody differently. Varying doses, strains, and forms can lead to different lengths and strengths of impairment. If you are unsure how marijuana will affect you, start with a very low dose.
Using alcohol and marijuana at the same time is likely to result in greater impairment than either one alone. Use both with caution, and remember that mixing the two can have some negative side effects.
With edibles, be smart. Go slow from the start!
The effects of edible Marijuana peak up to four hours after consumption. Wait for at least this long before consuming more.
Think about secondhand smoke before you toke.
Marijuana smoke has some of the same cancer-causing carcinogens as tobacco smoke, so do not smoke around children or anyone who doesn’t want to be exposed to secondhand smoke.
Public space, Federal land, and your car aren’t the place.
Public spaces include: casinos; restaurants; nightclubs; bars; lounges; sporting and music venues; parks; ski resorts; playgrounds; sidewalks and roads; marijuana retail businesses; outdoor and rooftop cafés; outdoor public pool areas.
Just stay at home, or go to a friend’s. And be aware, landlords, businesses, hotels and other facilities don’t have to allow marijuana use on their properties—always check first.
Don’t drive high – just catch a ride or call a friend.
By law, drivers with 5 nanograms of active THC per milliliter of blood are considered to be driving impaired and can be prosecuted for a DUI.
If you’re smoking, wait at least 6 hours before driving. If you’re ingesting, wait at least 8.
Marijuana affects individuals differently, so if you are unsure how marijuana will affect you, make other plans for transportation and don’t drive.

How about possession?
By law, customers may purchase 1 ounce per transaction. You may carry up to 1 ounce on your person.
What about employer drug testing?
Unfortunately, you are still subject to your employer’s drug testing policy.
Making Hash can cause a deadly flash.
Hash oil is created by extracting THC from the plant using flammable liquids. This is extremely dangerous and can result in life-threatening explosions and burns. Be safe; buy hash oil from a licensed retailer.
Store it right: Locked up, out of reach and out of sight.
Always keep marijuana safely out of reach of children. If a child eats or drinks marijuana by accident, they may have problems walking or sitting up, have a hard time breathing, or start to be sleepy. Call the poison control hotline (1-800-222-1222) immediately. If it seems bad, call 911 or go to an emergency room right away.
