Homemade CBD Treats to Get Through the Holidays

Let’s be real. While the holidays are typically a mix of joy and stress for most of us, 2020 is next level. Instead of parties, planning, and shopping, we’re still navigating a pandemic that has changed the way many of us work and live. Anxiety is sky-high and many people are already struggling, and the holidays can really compound those negatives. On the plus side, there are steps people can take to mitigate stress, even right now. And plant-based cannabinoids are one of them.

You may not be able to share with friends and family, but the ritual of preparing and enjoying these homemade CBD treats this holiday season can go a long way in helping you minimize anxiety and enjoy a little mood boost.

INFUSED LAVENDER HOT CHOCOLATE

Hot chocolate is standard this time of year, and this recipe elevates the classic.

    • 1 cup milk of choice
    • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
    • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 serving neutral-flavored CBD oil
    • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
    • Pinch of salt

Warm milk in a pot to a simmer. Turn off the heat, add the lavender, cover, and steep for ten minutes before straining the infused milk. Separately, combine cocoa powder, vanilla, CBD, maple syrup, and salt. Whisk into the infused milk, and enjoy!

INFUSED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

With two servings of CBD oil per batch, these chocolate chip cookies are definitely for adults only.

    • 3 cups flour
    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup white sugar
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 servings CBD oil

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine butter, CBD oil, and sugars in a stand mixer or bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla and stir to combine. In a separate bowl, combine baking soda, salt, and flour. Add flour mixture to egg mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool on wire rack.

FOR ADULTS ONLY

We’re all stressed these days, but these CBD-infused holiday treats are for adults only. Please keep them safely out of reach of children.
