No one needs an excuse to eat guacamole, but we’re making it even more appealing – and just in time for Cinco de Mayo! KYND Cannabis Co, one of our favorite cultivators, dropped this cannabis-infused guac recipe last year, and it deserves all the shares.
AVOCADO, THE WONDER FRUIT
The humble little avocado is a veritable gold mine of vitamins, minerals and fiber. But the health benefits don’t end there. Next time you’re enjoying that avocado toast, give yourself a pat on the back – you’re supporting healthy digestion, lowering your cholesterol, and maintaining both stable blood sugar and your gut microbiome. Really, the only way to improve on an avocado is to mash it and dress it up with salt, lime juice, maybe some red onion and jalapeño, and a liberal dose of cannabis oil. Which brings us to…
INFUSED GUACAMOLE RECIPE
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1-2 limes, juiced
- 1 tsp salt, with more to taste
- 1-2 tbsp red onion
- 1-2 servings of CBD or THC/CBD oil, based on personal preference
Optional (but recommended)
- 1 garlic clove
- 1-2 tsp jalapeño
- 1 tomato, seeded and diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
If you happen to possess a molcajete, get it out! If not, a sturdy bowl and wooden spoon will do the trick. First up – combine red onion, garlic and jalapeño, if you’re using them. The goal is to muddle, or grind, these ingredients into a paste with the lime juice and salt. Next, cut and pit the avocados and add them to the mix. Use two forks to mash to the right consistency. Stir in the infused oil, plus any extra ingredients, then taste and add salt if needed. Enjoy immediately, and make sure to keep this delicious infused guac away from kids and pets.
